Michigan reports 748 new coronavirus cases, 11 new deaths

Eleven more people have died of the novel coronavirus and 748 more people are known to have the virus in Michigan.
The state's latest report Friday brings its total to 6,300 confirmed deaths and 91,140 confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

On Thursday the state reported the highest daily total of COVID-19 cases reported since May 14 - 1,121 cases - however, the state also saw the largest return of tests Wednesday and the state's positivity rate has remained largely unchanged.
That continued to be true with the positivity rate reported Friday.
Michigan reported 1,393 out of 39,275 diagnostic test results returned Thursday were positive, a rate of 3.55%
The state has a fatality rate of 6.9% in known cases and, as of Aug. 7, reported 63,636 patients with confirmed cases alive 30 days post-onset.
The state also has reported 266 probable COVID-19 deaths and 9,584 probable cases.
The state's cumulative total from both confirmed and probable cases is 6,566 deaths and 100,724 cases.
