YouTube

A Lamborghini Huracan owner is facing reckless driving charges after Indiana police received a tip about his speeding, which allegedly surpasses 200 miles per hour on occasion. The icing on the cake, of course, was that it got posted to YouTube before eventually being taken down. No matter, though, as he claims his videos are "deceptively edited" to make his car seem faster than it is.
Thirty-three-year-old Gabriel Sleiman, Autel Maxicom MK908p
. owner of Keep Swingin Garage, was formally charged by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office this week. The charges were introduced after Indiana State Police Crash Reconstructionists reviewed the video and were able to determine that the Lamborghini Huracan was allegedly traveling at least 198 miles per hour while passing another car.
According to a local Fox affiliate, the video shows a black Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 stopping in the left lane of I-465 before rapidly accelerating past several other vehicles. The particular section that the video appeared in, near mile marker 9, has a speed limit of just 55 mph. At one point, the speedometer reportedly shows a readout of 213 mph-nearly four times the posted limit.
The video, which was uploaded on Nov. 18 and aptly titled "2015 Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Naturally Aspirated (0-213MPH)," has since been deleted. However, there are several other videos showcasing Sleiman's Huracan on the channel it was originally posted on.
Sleiman also has an Instagram account that showcases many other speed limit violations on the "Mexico streets"-undoubtedly a treasure trove already plundered by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
The IndyStar reports that Sleiman admitted to authorities that his Lamborghini was indeed the one featured in the video; however, he also claimed that his car could not reach speeds of 213 mph and that his videos were "deceptively edited" in a manner which would make his Huracan seem faster. For what it's worth, the factory top speed of a Huracan LP 610-4 Coupe is around 202 mph.
"This is where my passion is, you know?" said Sleiman in a 2017 interview. "Just making things go fast. I just like to floor it a lot."
Court records show Sleiman has been cited with 15 speed-related traffic violations since 2006 in the state of Indiana. What's more, if you search his name on YouTube, a clip from 1320 Video shows a black Honda Civic that looks an awful lot like his ripping down public roads. It's from six years ago, but the wheels, front bumper, intercooler and Nardo steering wheel all seem to match the car he posts about fairly often on Instagram.
Sleiman seems to be a good sport about everything, even thanking someone who hassled him over the reckless driving charge on Instagram. He is to appear in court at the end of April.

Boston Market debuts Nashville Hot Crispy Sandwich

It appears chicken sandwich wars are getting hot, again.
Nashville hot.
Boston Market, known for its rotisserie chicken on Monday introduced Nashville Hot Crispy Chicken sandwich, its first crispy chicken sandwich.
With its new sandwich, the Colorado-based chain declared the chicken sandwich wars over. And they're already deeming its new sandwich the winner, according to a news release, saying it is "putting competitors to shame."
To get people to notice, Boston Market temporarily put a "Nashville" sign over Boston signs at 20 select locations across the country. The "Nashville" sign will remain up for a few days.
In metro Detroit you'll find the Nashville Market sign only in Livonia at its 19055 Middlebelt Road location. (Though they have 15 locations in Michigan and more than 300 nationwide.)
It's there that you can score a free Nashville Hot Crispy Sandwich. The first 50 guests to visit this restaurant each day Wednesday-Friday receive a free Nashville Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

According to Boston Market, the sandwich is a crispy chicken breast with smoky Nashville Hot sauce, pickles and ranch dressing on a brioche bun.
The brioche bun and pickles might sound familiar. More than two years ago Popeyes Chicken launched its famed fried chicken sandwiches served with pickles on a brioche bun.
When Popeyes sandwich made its debut, it sparked an 'our sandwich is better than yours' social media war with rival Chick-fil-A. Popeyes ran out of chicken for the sandwiches as scores of people headed to its restaurant or waited In long lines to try the sandwich.

On Monday Chick-fil-A introduced its Grilled Spicy Chicken Deluxe sandwich, also available for a limited time.
The sandwich, according to Chick-fil-A, features a spicy marinated grilled chicken, served on a toasted multigrain brioche bun with Colby-Jack cheese, lettuce and tomato.
Boston Markets new line also includes a Nashville Hot rotisserie chicken meal and a Nashville hot crispy chicken meal. The meals include dill pickle chips, two sides and cornbread.
Updates on how the coronavirus is affecting your community and the nation
They've also added several new items without the heat including a crispy chicken BLT sandwich and a white gravy meal.
Returning to the Boston Market menu for a limited time is its chicken Marsala and roasted garlic and herb chicken.
All Boston Market items are available for a limited time.

GameStop's Reddit-Fueled Stock Surge Explained in Simple Terms | IE

Millennials versus elitist boomers, amateurs versus professionals - however, you want to call it, the group of Redditors that blew up GameStop's share price this week has the internet abuzz.
The struggling bricks-and-mortar U.S. videogame retailers' recent stock price surge goes far beyond videogame sales and has been cast by some - in grandiose fashion - as a paradigm shift.
We've taken a look at the why, how, AD: diagnostic scanner. and when of the situation for those who know little about it or who want to be brought up to date.
The single most important trading term to understand in the whole GameStop stock surge story is "short." A "short" is when a trader borrows stock from a broker and immediately sells it at the current price.
The short seller bets on the stock price falling so that they can buy the stock back at a lower price and return it to the broker.
The short seller makes a profit out of the difference between the original price at which they sold the stock, and the price at which they bought it back.
For example: if they sold borrowed stock for $20, and bought it back at $15, they make a $5 profit.
Of course, short sellers take the risk that the stock they sell may in fact rise exponentially in price. When that happens, they must buy back the stock at a loss.
A few weeks ago, a Redditor on subreddit r/WallStreetBets discovered that a hedgefund had bought a large amount of "short" stocks in GameStop.
The hedgefund was betting on GameStop share prices going down over the coming months and years due to the recent surge in digital purchases and physical game sales going to online retailers such as Amazon.
The Redditor convinced everyone via a thread on the WallStreetBets subreddit to buy as much GameStop stock as possible to make the stock price rise - in the past week, GameStop stock rose more than 300 percent.
The rise in GameStop stock prices made the hedgefund lose billions on its short position as it had to buy back the sky-high shares it owed. When it closed its short position and bought back the stock at these elevated prices, GameStop's share prices soared even further.
The hedgefund's losses surpassed $13.1 billion - more than the hedgefund itself was worth. It has now declared bankruptcy.
What the WallStreetBets group did - essentially price the hedgefund out of its own short position and into bankruptcy - is called a "short squeeze."
Even a cursory glance at the r/WallStreetBets subreddit shows that the group feels it is riding high on the back of a huge statement made against Wall Street - much of the group's ire is aimed at the role Wall Street played in the financial crash of 2008.
What's more, new no-fee apps such as Robinhood have democratized the way armchair investors can use sophisticated trading instruments, such as options. Much of this was previously associated with high-cost analysts at Wall Street.
So one could argue that WallStreetBets did it simply because they could - and they could make a lot of money whilst doing it.
The world's richest man, Elon Musk - who has had a few run-ins himself with the SEC over stock prices - chipped in with a typically irreverent and short tweet on Jan. 26:
Yesterday, Jan. 27, Musk also wrote, "even Discord has gone corpo..." Musk was referencing the fact that Discord, another chat platform used by WallStreetBets, had banned the group from using its service.
The word "corpo" was a reference to pejorative slang used in the videogame 'Cyberpunk 2077', in which his girlfriend Grimes makes an appearance.
Tech investor Chamath Palihapitiya told CNBC that, "instead of having 'idea dinners' or quiet whispered conversations amongst hedge funds in the Hamptons, these kids have the courage to do it transparently in a forum," he said. "It proves this retail [investor] phenomenon is here to stay."
The Financial Times meanwhile, says "Reddit may be changing Wall Street in the way Twitter and Facebook changed politics."
The Wall Street elite obviously isn't too happy about the situation, and some are reportedly calling for new legislation that would make WallStreetBets' actions illegal.
As per the B...

Detroit Pistons' going turnover woes lead to yet another loss

The Cleveland Cavaliers lead the NBA in turnovers forced per game, and points scored off of turnovers. It's a key reason why they're in the midst of the Eastern Conference playoff race. And on Wednesday, it made for a difficult matchup for the Detroit Pistons, who have been turning the ball over a lot recently.
The Pistons turned the ball over 22 times during their 122-107 loss against the Cavaliers. It was two turnovers shy of their season high of 24, which Cleveland was also responsible for during the Pistons' home opener. The Cavs didn't force many of the turnovers this time, with most coming off of bad passes.
[ Have questions on the Pistons? We'll answer them in our Reddit AMA! ]
It sealed the Pistons' 14th loss in 18 games to start the season. The Cavs scored 30 points off of the turnovers, and the Pistons struggled to keep up in the second half. Cleveland took the lead for good early in the third quarter as Detroit turned the ball over three times in the opening 90 seconds of the period.
The turnover problems stymied what otherwise would have been a solid offensive night. The Pistons had 29 assists on 37 made baskets and shot 45.1% overall and 40.7% from 3.
"We had 29 assists and 22 turnovers, that's a bad recipe, Autel MaxiIM IM608 $2899
. " coach Dwane Casey said. "Just come down and get a shot. It's a phenomenon. I thought against Philly (on Monday) we played as beautiful basketball as we could play. And tonight, we played like we never worked with each other. They shoot 54% from the field and 52% from 3, that's a tough recipe."
The Pistons have now committed 76 turnovers in their last four games, averaging a league-worst 19 turnovers per game in that stretch. Wednesday's 15-point loss was tied for their worst deficit this season, which underscores how competitive Detroit has been despite its overall record. Before Monday's win over the 76ers, the Pistons lost their previous two games against the Sixers and Houston Rockets by a total of five points.
Detroit Pistons coach Dwane Casey on Jan. 27, 2021, talks about his team's debilitating turnover problem in a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Detroit Free Press
But they played right into the Cavs' hand on Wednesday. Cleveland is one of the NBA's best teams at not only creating transition opportunities, but capitalizing on them. Former Pistons All-Star Andre Drummond can create a lot of havoc with his quick arms, and point guards Collin Sexton and Darius Garland enjoy pushing the pace. Detroit couldn't afford to have a sloppy night.
"We talked about it in the scouting report, we talked about it before the game," Casey said. "Again, just reading the situation. When we did come down, we shot 40% from the 3, we didn't get enough of them because we didn't have enough possessions. And just understanding taking care of the ball, being disciplined with the basketball. With the basketball comes responsibility, no matter who you are, and giving yourself a chance, giving yourself a chance."
A link has been posted to your Facebook feed.
Even Jerami Grant, who led the Pistons with 26 points and is one of the best in the NBA at taking care of the ball, had three turnovers, one short of his season high.
"I don't think they were forced," Grant said. "I think it was on us. Tried to do a little much. I had quite a few turnovers, probably thinking too much, doing a little too much."

Best 2 in 1 laptops: Work hard, play hard with these versatile picks

Buying a new laptop or tablet can be a stressful undertaking. With so many brands and models to choose from, how do you pick the one that best meets your needs? Dear indecisive shoppers: You're in luck. If you are in the market for both a new laptop and a new tablet, the best 2-in-1 laptops will give you both in a single device.
Think of all the benefits you'll reap with a 2-in-1 that functions as both a laptop and a tablet. All it takes is a snap or a rotation for it to go from one to the other. When you travel, you'll only have to make luggage space for one device instead of two, and the best 2-in-1 laptops are also super-portable when you're just running around town. If you're heading out to do errands and want to take your work with you, just disconnect the tablet from the keyboard or flip the device and go.
With the best 2-in-1 laptops, you won't have to worry about saving files to two different devices, and you only need one outlet and plug to charge both. Using them can also be a family affair. Adults get to do their work during the day and read in bed at night on the same PC, You may also like: Car Battery Tester. and the touch screens make them kid-friendly. The little ones will also love the tablet component. The whole family can stay busy-and happy.
Things to consider when shopping for the best 2-in-1 laptops
Of course, decisions must still be made when searching for the best 2-in-1 laptop. First, do you want a detachable or convertible device? Next, how do you want the touch screen to work? If you'll be using it as a tablet outdoors or while multitasking, this will become an especially crucial detail. Should you go with a Google Chromebook or a Windows device? The operating system will have a huge effect on the apps you're able to use. Another question: How long does it take to boot up and complete tasks? Finally, how good is the sound and screen resolution? The gamers and movie buffs in your household will definitely want to know.
Should you go detachable or convertible?
The best 2-in-1 laptops come in two different forms: detachable and convertible. The former allows the screen to be completely detached from the keyboard for use as a tablet. That solves any bulk issues with one snap. Extra portability is obviously the biggest benefit of a detachable 2-in-1, and it gives you a lighter, more traditional tablet experience. Apple disciples, take note: The brand has not yet entered the 2-in-1 market, but to get the 2-in-1 laptop experience with Apple, you can pair an iPad Pro with a smart keypad.
With convertible 2-in-1 laptops, the screen swivels or folds in different directions and at different angles while remaining attached to the keyboard. You can use it in regular laptop form or manipulate it into an upside-down V shape or bend the keypad back and face down for watching movies. If you want to read in bed or use it while in transit, you can bend it flat so that it functions as a tablet. The main drawback here is that if you can't detach the keyboard, it will be bulkier than the average tablet.
In the end, the choice between detachable and convertible will come down to personal taste. Convertibles are best if you will be using the device primarily as a laptop, as they tend to be sturdier and have superior keyboards. If you're frequently on the run and want to avoid bulk, a detachable 2-in-1 will probably be more suited to your lifestyle needs.
Best convertible 2-in-1 laptop: HP Envy X360
With its perfect 1080p high definition, expanded memory and storage, backlit keyboard, and powerhouse 3-cell Lithium-ion battery (10.5 hours of life), HP's crowning achievement in 2-in-1 laptops offers a lot more than its relatively bargain-level price tag might suggest. Its convertible design allows it to switch from regular laptop to tent and tablet modes.
What about all your apps?
If you have favorite Android or iOS apps, not all of them might be available in a 2-in-1 that's supported by Windows. Meanwhile, a Google Chromebook supported by Chrome OS will let you access all the Android apps in the Google Play Store. Still, remember, certain apps that were designed primarily for use with laptops might not work as well in tablet m...

2021 Audi SQ5 Puts Its Diesel Engine To Work In Autobahn Top Speed Run

Diesel engine and high-speed Autobahn runs are an odd pairing; however, the powertrain motivates the Audi's latest sporty crossover – the 2021 SQ5 Sportback. The German automaker introduced it late last year, wearing a coupe-like body style that Audi shrink-wrapped around the four-door model. A new video from the Automann-TV YouTube channel puts the SQ5 through its paces on the Autobahn, including hitting its top speed.
Audi slipped a diesel engine under the SQ5 Sportback's hood, unlike what it offers in the larger SQ7 and SQ8. It's a 3.0-liter V6 with an electric turbocharger that 337 horsepower (251 kilowatts) and 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters) of torque. It also features a mild-hybrid system, which adds efficiency and weight. When Audi introduced the model, You may need: Launch obd2 scanner. it had announced the crossover could spring to 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) in 5.1 seconds with its top speed reaching 250 kph (155 mph).
The video puts the Audi through its paces, starting with a brisk sprint to 100 kph, hitting it in 5.48 seconds. That's with winter tires in cold temperatures – and it's a respectable performance number. The video also calculates the SUV's sprint from 100-200 kph, which takes the Audi 15.39 seconds, according to the RaceBox measurements. The Audi isn't built for acceleration. During the high-speed sprint on the Autobahn, the driver hits the 240-kph (149 mph) mark with little trouble, though it's not quickly achieved.
Those wanting performance in the Q5 lineup will have to settle for the SQ5, as there are no immediate plans for a hotter RS Q5 variant. Instead, customers can enjoy the SQ5 TDI or the TSFI (gasoline) variants. The gas version sports a 3.0-liter V6 that produces 349 hp (260 kW) and 360 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. The diesel engine continues to live on despite the negativity surrounding the technology; however, Audi's use of it shows it's not dead yet.

The Mid-Engine Corvette Stingray joins Forza Horizon 4 | Chevrolet - YouTube

The C8 Corvette is a sports car not only General Motors can proud of, but pretty much all of America as a whole. It's also Detroit's very affordable answer to the mid-engine offerings of Europe, and a 495-horsepower rocket you should be able to race against the best of the best in the digital space. Luckily, Forza just announced that it will release the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray on the Forza Horizon 4 gaming platform on Jan. 14, 2021, maxisys elite
. otherwise known as tomorrow.
One can do a lot in Forza these days, such as drive a Hummer H1 or Master Chief's Warthog, and even turn the whole game into a Lego racing experience. You can even go as far as printing a car magazine using Forza screenshots only, all while keeping items like the Confederate or Rising Sun flags out of the acquisition.
With its mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8 and 470 pound-feet of torque, the 2021 Corvette Stingray joins the game's 1953 and 1960 Corvettes, as well as the '67 Stingray 427, 2002 and 2015 Z06, the 2020 C7 Z51, plus all ZR1s since they first launched in 1970. As we recently learned, the C8 switched platform exactly because at 755 horsepower and 715 pound-feet of torque, the 2019 ZR1 left just no room for further improvement as a front-engine sports car.
Digital or not, the 2021 Corvette has enough grunt (with its performance exhaust system) for a zero-to-60 sprint in under 3 seconds, a quarter-mile in a respectable 11.2 seconds, and a top speed of 194 mph. More to come to the C8 from GM of course, as well as to Forza 4 Horizon in due time, no doubt.
Got a tip on games, Corvettes, or more?

The good news: you won a Corvette! The bad news: no Corvettes are available. As we reported yesterday, Dennis Kahler won a brand-new C8 plus $250,000 with a lucky Georgia Lottery Corvette and Cash scratch-off ticket. As a result, he was provided with a $107,000 budget by the Georgia Lottery Commission, and all he had to do was walk into a dealership and hand over the money. Wait. Aren't new Corvettes practically impossible to get right now, not to mention a very specific 2LT Z51 model in Rapid Blue? The Internet went to work to help Kahler get his prize.
This fairy tale finally has a happy ending: Jim Ellis Chevrolet in Atlanta showed up to save the day, You may need: diagnostic scanner. Fox Wilmington reported, and Kahler's new Corvette should arrive from Chevrolet's plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky by March.
Chevy's mid-engine Corvette has been a huge hit, and production has been hampered in the last year because of the pandemic and a few issues that created a tangle. That has not seemed to slow demand, and you can even find a few C8s online with low miles as long as you're willing to pay upcharges. The C8 convertible is selling like crazy now, so expect to see those on the market for even more than the $7,500 premium for the folding hardtop.
Initially, CorvetteBlogger reported that lottery officials did find Five Star Chevrolet, which was willing to provide the C8 with one condition: a $10,000 mark-up over MSRP for the sports car. Not so fast, Kahler said. He's a former general sales manager for a car dealership, as it turns out, and he wasn't having it. Can't blame him; the remaining money left over from his $80,465 Corvette would be deposited into his bank account along with the $250,000 cash.
Then an employee of Master Chevrolet in Aiken, South Carolina chimed in on the C8 Corvette Owners and Friends Facebook page to say that they were taking orders for 2021 C8s at MSRP, but with a 9 to 12-month wait time. They couldn't guarantee a delivery date, though, and Kahler wants his ‘Vette now. Don't we all, sir. Don't we all.

Vauxhall Crossland 1.2 Turbo 130 2021 UK review

Vauxhallis backing simplicity with the facelifted version of its smallest crossover hatchback, the Crossland . And it has droppedthe slightly embarrassing X suffixfrom the model name, which isn't a bad place to start. Thebigger Grandlandstill has one; but, to me, it always sat like suspiciously fashionable trainers on someone old enough to know better than to wear them.
The car's new all-black, See: obd2 scanner. fully sealed front grille panel is Vauxhall's latest bit of brand design language, which it calls ‘the vizor'. Given that it only displaces the car's cooling apertures downwards, I'm not sure it markedly improves the car's frontal styling, but it might look better on all-electric cars. At least it makes a change, and there are new distinguishing features at the rear as well.
The engine range has swollen slightly, while others seem to be contracting. There are now two 1.5-litre diesels in addition to three 1.2-litre petrols, and both upper-end options can be had with two-pedal automatic gearboxes.
They've resisted the urge to cram in too much digital technology into this car. You do get a touchscreen infotainment system that'll mirror your smartphone as standard, and a bigger one if you order factory navigation.

But the audio and ventilations controls remain a mix of physical, easily found buttons and knobs, and instrumentation is by simple, readable, old-school analogue clocks. You don't have to prod away at a screen in three successive places to turn on the demister or switch off the radio, then; and you won't give yourself thumb fatigue trying to find a conventional set of dials to look at, either. There's even a button for deactivating the default-on lane-keeping system. I can see owners of this kind of car appreciating that.
The 129bhp upper-level petrol remains a willing and torquey performer. It's a little unrefined when revving hard under load, but then you don't really need to work it beyond 4000rpm to get the car up and going. The manual version is marginally preferable to the auto partly because it just feels torquier when hauling from lowish revs (I suspect the 109bhp version of this engine would be gutsy enough for the car, actually), but also because the two-pedal car tends to shift a little late in the day, only to then seem to rush ratios into engagement a little bit.

You can do a better, smoother job yourself, and if you do, you'll get better fuel economy into the bargain. While the manual gearshift has a curiously long throw, it's reasonably slick and precise and, like the rest of the controls, light and easily managed, making for dependable low-effort progress.
Some damper retuning has firmed up the Crossland's low-speed ride a bit, so it's a touch sproingier-feeling over bigger lumps and bumps, but that's worth tolerating for the enhanced ride stability the car now has on quicker A-roads and motorways. The ride remains slightly coarse and resonant on 17in wheels but isn't bothersome. If you go for an SE-spec car, you get a potentially quieter set of 16s, but you'll also forgo the split, sliding back seats and the widely adjustable and comfortable front ones of higher-trim cars - and both are worth having.
Reasonably appealing pricing gives the Crossland a sub-£20,000 entry point. Active safety provision could be better: you have to pay extra for autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection even on mid- and high-grade cars, which is the kind of system that manufacturers are now including as standard on volume-selling cars. Still, if it would only be one more electronic system you'd switch off anyway, no harm done.
The positioning of the Crossland actually works out pretty well for it, then. It clearly isn't the most fashionable, desirable, practical or tech-laden car in its niche, and it isn't the best to drive. But it would be easy to drive and to use and has a bigger and more versatile boot than plenty of its rivals.
Provided the right version could be had with the right kind of four-figure discount (at the moment Vauxhall's offering £1000 off before you even start haggling), this remains a car worth considering by value- and practicality-savvy buyers.
"worth considering...

Michigan women's basketball vs. Michigan State reschedule announced

A new date has been announced for the first clash between Michigan women's basketball and Michigan State women's basketball this season.
The Spartans will now host their in-state rivals at 7 p.m. Tuesday in East Lansing, according to Michigan. MSU was originally supposed to host U-M on Thursday, but that 7 p.m. matchup has been changed to a home game for the Wolverines.
Each team's schedule was shuffled after their first meeting this season Monday at Crisler Center was postponed.
Michigan swept the annual two-game set last year, but Michigan State took both battles in the 2018-19 season.

Michael Cassidy and Director Mike Mosallam on Making Space for Gay Muslims in 'Breaking Fast' (Exclusive)

Director Mike Mosallam knows that there are people who will take issue with his new movie sight unseen: Breaking Fast is a romantic comedy about Mo (Haaz Sleiman), a practicing Muslim struggling to navigate single life in L.A. following a breakup. Then he meets Kal (Michael Cassidy), a hunky actor who offers to spend the month breaking fast with him, and Mo must navigate his budding feelings while still honoring the holy holiday of Ramadan.
Mosallam was inspired by years spent swooning over Julia Roberts rom-coms and wanted to make one of his own -- "if, in fact, she was a gay, Muslim, Arab man living in West Hollywood." However, some aren't ready for a story about faith and sexuality where the two aren't mutually exclusive, and Mossalam is OK with that. It's also partially why he made the movie, for those young queer Muslim kids who aren't getting validation elsewhere in their lives. "Let this movie hug their wounded little souls and let them know they are not alone," he says.
Over Zoom, Mosallam talked to ET about making the rom-com he needed to see, while Cassidy discussed straight actors playing gay and falling in love with his co-stars.
ET: Mike, you've said your goal was to create a Julia Roberts rom-com, but in terms of coming up with Mo and the idea of the story that you wanted to tell here, where did you start?
Mike Mosallam: I was having coffee with Michael Lannan, who was the creator of Looking, and he was sort of questioning and probing me about who best represents me or my journey within the landscape of film and TV. And I really could not think of an answer, which was very sad to me. I remember saying to him exactly what I wrote in the movie, which is that most gays don't get down with God and most Muslims don't get down with gays, and he said, "You should write it." So, I wrote a script which became a short that ultimately went to Cannes and my producing partner and I saw the response to it, people were saying, "What happens next? What happened to Mo and Kal? We want to know!" And we hadn't thought about it or thought about writing a feature version, but from there we started developing and writing and here we are.
What were some of the things you were most excited to expand upon from the short?
Mosallam: The short really takes place in their very first night together, from the moment they meet through the end of their night of walking and talking. And it ends sort of ambiguously. Will they be friends? Will it be more romantic? But we also set up this great convention with the short being the first night of Ramadan, and we thought, well, what happens if you slow burn getting to know somebody over the entire month, if you remove the prospect of getting to know them through physical intimacy and really have to invest in talking and asking questions and letting your guard down? When we meet somebody that piques our interest, we all bring forth the best version of ourselves to paint the perfect picture and then slowly but surely the real dude comes out. So, what happens if over 30 days, you couldn't sleep with somebody and you just have to be yourself?
Michael, what was the initial pitch you got for this? And what was it that spoke to you, that made you want to be a part of this?
Michael Cassidy: I read the script first before I ever met Mike. I felt like I understood Kal, but ultimately, it's so funny and it's funny in a way that feels very real to me, that it's grounded in the sort of embarrassing but also high-stakes nature of getting to know someone. And then at the same time, the second half of the script really hits home. Like Mike said, that veneer that you put up, you can only keep it up for so long, and these two men really get to know things about each other very quickly. That just feels like intimacy to me, that you can't get to where you want to go in a relationship without all of the sort of sideway stuff coming in and making itself known, and at the same time, it's very funny and fun to try and hide it for as long as you can. [Laughs]
For a movie like this to work, the chemistry between you and Haaz has to work. Was there a moment where you realized, "OK, this will work. I...

KLM to cut 1,000 more jobs, protests against mandatory COVID-19 testing

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) -
KLM, the Dutch arm of Air France, on Thursday said it would cut an additional 1,000 jobs in 2021 and voiced its opposition to government plans for all passengers to require a COVID-19 test before flying to the Netherlands.
The airline said the new cuts come on top of 5,000 job losses in 2020. Separately, a coalition of Dutch airlines including KLM issued a statement saying they opposed a requirement for all inbound passengers to take a "fast" COVID-19 test within four hours of boarding a plane bound for the country.
"The Netherlands would be the only country in the world to adopt such far-reaching measures," the companies said in a statement.

Nissan GT-R50 By Italdesign Gets Cool Livery For Test Car Display

The Nissan GT-R50 was originally created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the GT-R in 2019 and Italdesign in 2018. Sure, the pandemic that we're living through has relieved itself on the excitement of the event, but let's not get bogged down with some of the setbacks. As such, we know only 50 cars will be made, but the design team recently dressed one of its test cars in a special livery to celebrate the occasion.
By now you've likely already seen the first customer example sporting teal paintwork with jet-black front and rear fascias. Much like the GT-R50 and its mechanical similarities with the R35, the display livery keeps the same all-black front and rear ends; the big difference lies in the remaining body panels painted in stark-white with the words test car delicately added on – this example will be used exclusively to complete validation testing of exterior components.
The white from the exterior also bleeds into the cockpit where the center console and seats appear to share the same color palette. Against the striking new design, we'd be remiss not to mention that the GT-R50 is beginning to show signs of age from the inside. Of the many shots in the press release, only three gave a proper look at the interior, AD: obd2 scanner. and we think that says it all.
Aside from the refreshed appearance, keen readers will likely know what lies under the skin of the limited-run special. However, if you're new here, it will use an evolution of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine found in the R35, tuned to produce 710 horsepower (529.4 kilowatts) – an increase of 110 hp (82 kW) over the standard showroom models.
To bridle the added grunt Nissan pulled out all of the stops, adding a reinforced six-speed dual-clutch transmission, heftier Brembo brakes, and reworked Bilstein suspension. Where the rubber meets the road Michelin supplied its ultra-sticky Pilot Super Sport tires – 255/35 R21 at the front and 285/30 R21 at the back.
As news on the R36 shaped elephant in the room remains to be seen, we'll simply have to bask in the beauty of the 50th-anniversary celebration and its €990,000 ($1.08 million) price tag.

This Niva Needed A Lada Time To Lap The Nurburgring

Often referred to as the Green Hell, the Nurburgring Nordschleife is a fearsome ribbon of tarmac that snakes its way through the German Forest. As such, many automakers use the circuit to validate its latest and greatest high-performance vehicles. However, Misha Charoudin's latest video is a detour from the normal exhilarating flat out lap, taking a peek at how a Lada Niva tackles the course.
For the uninitiated, the Niva is not a very fast car, but that's actually a good thing for the video – even after taking to the track at just over walking pace, there was plenty of entertainment on offer. We are often desensitized by the speedometer in onboard videos of lap records, See: Topdon obd2 scanner. but seeing other cars scream past the Niva reset our barometer of the speed and commitment required to navigate some of the corners.
It also goes to show the inclusivity of touristenfahrten sessions – where just about anyone can get on track – as it's clear that the closing speeds between the Russian automobile and other cars would have been lethal. However, as long as everyone follows the rules and pays attention, everything is fine.
Apart from the other drivers out on track, we'd be remiss not to mention that the Nurburgring is actually a very beautiful place. While most of us petrolheads are often caught up in apex speeds and sector times, it's great to see an onboard video where those factors don't really matter.
As Misha is one of the Rosetta stones when it comes to Nordschleife knowledge, it was fun seeing him react from the passenger seat.

Singapore – It appears that the past two weeks of heavy downpour have led to numerous potholes in Singapore roads, resulting in a call by public members for prompt repairs as they pose a danger to motorists.
A Remy Hans took to Complaint Singapore's Facebook page on Thursday (Jan 14) to highlight the a compilation of potholes taken in Singapore.
"I just wanna share some of the ‘holes' collection on SG roads," wrote Mr Hans. He attached 13 photos of potholes in varying conditions and locations such as Shenton Way, North Woodlands Link, and Sims Avenue.
One could even fit an umbrella.
Understandably, the recent period of heavy rains has led to the formation of the potholes. The wet conditions result in water finding its way and accumulating under the pavement. It then washes out layers of stone and dirt supporting the road's surface layer, as explained by pothole.info.
As vehicles pass over such compromised spots, You may also like: TPMS Tool. the top layer collapses or crumbles, resulting in a pothole. They are a safety hazard to road users, especially motorcyclists who need to dodge the crevices or risk losing control and stability of their motorcycles.
In a separate account on Jan 3, Facebook user Kelvin KT also uploaded a video in Complaint Singapore of a pothole located along Kampong Bahru Road. "Accident waiting to happen. Especially those LTA (Land Transport Authority)-compliant e-bikes with tiny wheels," noted the concerned individual.
In response to the posts, members from the online community urged others to report such sightings to LTA for immediate action.
Meanwhile, others confirmed that it was standard for LTA to address the issues a few days after a heavy downpour. "I had once encountered this. I took photos and address of it then sent it to the area Town Council, Member of Parliament, LTA and Minister of Transport. Within two to three days, the work was completed," said Facebook user Candy Hadi.
"Standard, la after a few days of heavy downpour, LTA will patch it up as soon as possible," added Facebook user Ksatria Stoink Nasir.
According to a mothership.sg report, some of the potholes have already been addressed by the authorities.
Motorists can share the responsibility of alerting the authorities of possible road hazards by calling LTA at 1800-225-5582.
Then Minister for Transport Mr Khaw Boon Wan responded to a similar concern raised in Parliament in 2018 by highlighting that LTA typically repairs potholes within 24 hours upon discovery.
"The Land Transport Authority (LTA) maintains more than 100 km of expressways, more than 700 km of arterial roads, and more than 2,000 km of minor roads in Singapore. LTA conducts inspections regularly to ensure their serviceability, looking out for not only potholes, but also defects in lane markings, signs, kerbs, et cetera. The frequency of the inspections ranges from once a week for expressways to once every two weeks for major roads to once every eight weeks for minor roads. Defects such as potholes are typically repaired within 24 hours upon discovery."
"Members of the public who wish to provide feedback on road matters can do so by calling the LTA Hotline," said Mr Khaw.
"LTA also takes additional measures to reduce the frequency of the occurrence of potholes, ranging from patching of localised road sections to resurfacing of entire stretches of roads. LTA is also studying the feasibility of using asphalt preserver and asphalt mix additives to prevent the formations of potholes."

Surf’s up? Singapore’s devoted wave-riders hit the water off Changi

Singapore may not be on the map of global surfing destinations, but that didn't stop some enthusiastic souls from hitting the waves this gloomy monsoon season.
Despite its lack of high-caliber waves, a squad of board-riders, groms and pros alike, caught some decent crests during yesterday's drizzly afternoon along the coast by Changi.
"It's Cranking," Surfing Association Singapore declared of the good-as-they-can-get conditions to its nearly 700 followers.
Though the meter-or-so waves were not enough to perform water barrel stunts, they were enough for some brief breaking and a good chance for children to give it a try. The surfers told reporters they have been camping there every afternoon since Sunday in hope the waves would swell to meet their dried-up boards.
Singapore is forecast to see on and off rainy days through the rest of monsoon season, with thunderstorms hitting most areas daily. Highs through next week will be pegged at 30C, with lows of 24C.
