Police: Springfield man calls police, says he killed girlfriend

Oakland County officials are investigating an incident Tuesday that left a 60-year-old woman dead, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
Responders from the Oakland County Operations Center received a call at 5:52 p.m. Tuesday in which the caller said, "I just killed my girlfriend," before ending the call.
Upon arrival, deputies and the Springfield Township Fire Department found a 50-year-old man sitting on grass outside home on the 9200 block of Cherrywood Road who told a deputy, "I shot her. I killed her, You may also like: TPMS Tool. " according to a release from the sheriff's office. Inside the home, deputies found the victim on the floor, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The woman, who is believed to be the suspect's live-in girlfriend, was pronounced dead at the McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac.
Once the scene was secured, officers from the OCSO Special Investigations Unit and the Forensic Science Laboratory assisted with analyzing the incident.
Deputies found a .380 semi-automatic handgun on a table in the home's basement. It is believed to be the weapon the suspect used.
The suspect, a resident of Springfield Township, remains at the Oakland County Jail pending charges. Officials expect an arraignment late Friday or Saturday.
This incident remains under investigation.
